Towing capacity increase to 3,500 kg for Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Diesel
With this technical report, the towing capacity of the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-door diesel can be increased from the standard 2,200 kg to a maximum of 3,500 kg.
This report is suitable for the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited diesel, year 2007-2018, EU model, with a standard registered towing capacity of 2,200 kg.
Important requirements
- Only for Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-door diesel, year 2007-2018
- Only for EU models with standard 2,200 kg towing capacity
- The installed tow hitch must have a minimum D-value of 14.39 kN
- The D-value can be found on the type plate of the tow hitch

The increased towing capacity must then be checked and entered into the vehicle documents by an approved inspection authority such as TĂV, DEKRA or KĂS. The vehicle type plate must be updated as part of the registration process.
